Emergency Department Visitor Guide
To Our Visitors
We understand a trip to the emergency room can be a stressful time for families. To ensure the health and safety of all our patients, the Emergency Department at St. Charles Bend has developed the following guidelines for visitors. These rules help our caregivers focus on each patient in order to deliver the highest level of care possible.
If you have any questions during your visit to the emergency department, please ask a receptionist or nurse on duty. We appreciate your cooperation.
Visitor Guidelines
Only one visitor is allowed in the treatment room after a patient is assessed by nurses.
Children younger than 14 are not allowed as visitors in the Emergency Department.
No food or drink may be brought from outside and into treatment rooms. Nurses and other caregivers will take care of the dietary needs of patients.
Visitors may enter the emergency department only on request and only one person at a time once access is cleared.
Visitor access is restricted to the treatment rooms of the patients they accompany. A visitor must remain in the treatment room except during patient tests or if it is necessary to relay patient information to other visitors waiting in the lobby.
Doors must be closed to respect and maintain privacy.
At times when the Emergency Department is extremely busy, visitors may not be allowed in the department due to safety reasons.
