Beer for Boobies

A benefit for Sara's Project a breast cancer education and support services project at St. Charles Cancer Center
The Redmond community gathered together for local music, beer and wine tasting, a silent auction and a contest to crown "Redmond's Best Rack" all while raising funds to support breast cancer education and patient support services at St. Charles. The event raised more than $3,000 and was a big hit with breast cancer survivors and the Redmond community. Host Tammy Mills from Cross Creek Cafe is pleased to announce Beer for Boobies will be held once again 2011.

Tour des Chutes

The scenic multi-distance bike ride, held July 17, benefited the St. Charles Cancer Survivorship Program and the Lance Armstrong Foundation and was once again a huge success. The ride featured the same challenging and breathtaking course, fun and friendly rest stops and a terrific post-ride party. More than 1000 riders participated and raised more than $80,000. Many thanks to everyone involved.

Spark Your Heart: 5K Walk/Run

Spark Your Heart 5K Walk/Run  was held on July 4 beginning and ending at Riverbend Park. The flat and scenic course looped along the Deschutes River and through the Old Mill District. This family friendly event grew to attract over 700 participants this year. Be sure to join us next year to celebrate your heart health by running or walking this beautiful route. Event roceeds benefit the Heart Fund of St. Charles Foundation. Thank you participatant and sponsors for making this year's event a resounding success.

Heaven Can Wait: 5k Walk/Run for Breast Cancer

This event is an annual celebration of cancer survivorship held in Drake Park on National Cancer Survivor's Day, the first Sunday in June each year. Heaven Can Wait has become a beloved community event with more than 4,100 participants that raised over $113,000 in 2010. Proceeds benefit Sara's Project, a fund of the St. Charles Foundation which offers breast health education, outreach and support services for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Accomplishments from your participation
  • You support Sara's Project and provide a host of no-cost support for breast cancer patients at St. Charles Cancer Center
  • You promote early detection. Survival rate at 5 years is 95% if breast cancer is detected early.
  • 200 local women are diagnosed each year. You support these women and their families and encourage hope and healing.
  • Walking and running are part of a healthy lifestyle

Redmond Volunteer Golf Tournament

A benefit for the Family Birthing Center at St. Charles Redmond

"Tee Up for Babies" was the theme for the 29th annual St. Charles Redmond Volunteers Golf Tournament. Over 60 golfers participated and raised over $8,000. The funds will be used to purchase baby bassinets for the Family Birthing Center at St. Charles Redmond. Thank you volunteers, participants and sponsors for a wonderful event!

Riders for the Cure

Thank you to all the participants of the 7th Annual Riders for the Cure event held at Mt Bachelor on April  11th.  The event  was a lot of fun with 41 participants of all ages and abilities. The event raised more than $5,000 for Sara's Project, a fund of the St. Charles Foundation and a program of St. Charles Cancer Care. Sara's Project offers breast health education, outreach, screenings and support services for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
