At SCHS, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to our caregivers. From medical and dental coverage to a fitness room and caregiver assistance program, our benefits package shows that we are committed to taking care of our caregivers' body, mind and spirit. Medical and Dental Insurance
Medical (including vision and prescription) and dental insurance plans are available on the first day of the month following regular full- or part-time employment and are paid for by the hospital and caregiver.
Flex Plan
- Section 125 Flex Plan for caregivers to reimburse childcare and health care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
AirLink
- Insurance for our AirLink air ambulance service secondary to any group health or individual health policy for medically necessary transportation service to the hospital. Premium can be paid with pretax dollars or hospital will pay premium after one year in a regular, full-time position.
Life and Disability Insurance
- Life insurance coverage for enrolled caregivers equal to current annual salary, available after 90 days in regular, full- or part-time position. Supplemental life insurance available for purchase by caregiver.
- Accidental death and dismemberment coverage for full amount for loss of life for enrolled caregivers and for half of full amount for dismemberment, available after 90 days in regular full-or part-time position.
- Long-term disability coverage provides income replacement after 90 days, up to 60 percent of base wages for enrolled caregivers, available after 90 days in full- or part-time position. Short-term disability insurance is available for purchase by the caregiver.
- Malpractice insurance coverage for caregivers while performing work duties.
- Liability insurance coverage for non-willful damage to patient property or accidental incidents to patients.
Education
- Continuing in-service education classes available when employed. Classes are posted on CaregiverNet.
- Tuition reimbursement of approved expenses at an accredited school or university for classes relevant to caregiver's job.
Retirement
- 403 (b) Retirement Program available when employed. Caregivers may contribute immediately. After one year of regular, full- or part-time employment, the hospital will match up to 6 percent of caregiver's gross wages. Relief caregivers may contribute without match.
Time Off
- Caregivers accrue Earned Time Off (ETO) for illness, vacation and six major holidays according to number of hours worked when employed in a regular, full- or part-time position. Time earned:
1 to 3 years -- 24 days per year or equivalent
4 to 9 years -- 29 days per year or equivalent
10+ years -- 36 days per year or equivalent
- Bereavement leave allows three consecutive days due to the death of immediate family member and one day for other family members for regular full- or part-time caregivers.
- Jury duty leave with full day's wages, if scheduled to work, for regular full- or part-time caregivers.
Wellness Programs
- Annual lab tests.
- Caregiver Assistance Program allows three visits/assessments for caregiver and immediate family members per year.
- Fitness room available at St. Charles Bend and St. Charles Redmond.
Miscellaneous
- Meal discounts off posted prices with caregiver ID badge.
- Free parking at all facilities.
- Direct paycheck deposit to your existing account at any bank.
- ATM machine available for banking transactions.
- Caregiver of the Month recognition, five, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year annual recognition.
