Pioneer Memorial Hospital Medical Laboratory

The goal of our laboratory staff is to provide quality services to meet the needs of both our physicians and our patients. As a community hospital, we recognize that there is a patient behind each 'specimen', and so we constantly strive to provide the highest level of technical excellence and personal care. Our staff is experienced and well-trained and we care about your health, and the health of the community.

Services Offered

Our staff is available 24-hours every day to assist with emergency care and deliveries as needed. For your convenience we offer blood draws and other sample collections at a satellite lab located inside Pioneer Health Care Clinic:

1103 NE Elm St
Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

We also offer a number of Self-Screening Tests and provide a full range of Laboratory Services and educational opportunities through the Medical Laboratory.

A Full-Service Lab

State-of-the art software enables us to interface with local healthcare centers, and that allows us to quickly deliver lab reports. Up-to-date equipment allows us to perform automated chemistry, toxicology (drug testing), coagulation, hematology and urinalysis, and blood bank services. Our automated incubation and reading of blood culture specimens aid in the early detection of bacteria in the blood stream.

Self-Screening Lab Services

We offer lower-cost self-ordered Health Screenings through the PMH Laboratory that include:

  • cholesterol and triglycerides
  • blood sugar
  • anemia screening
  • and pregnancy tests

To take advantage of this service, download the Health Screening Order Form then simply print it out and fill it in. Bring the form with you to the Admitting Office to pay for your service, and then proceed to our satellite lab. Your results may be picked up by the end of the next business day, or they will be mailed to you at the address you provide.

PMH Medical Lab In the Community

We partner with the Crook County School District to provide annual student tours of the lab — this gives the students a chance to see science in action.

We also work with high school students in the health and health care classes. Through affiliations with Portland Community College, Lane Community College and Winatchee Valley College we provide clinical rotations for students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technology Program.
