Weight-Loss (Bariatric) Surgery

Diet and exercise may be the healthiest, least invasive way to lose weight, but for some whose weight has put their life at risk, diet and exercise may not be the answer.

Weight-loss surgery, also called bariatric surgery is sometimes only effective means to achieve permanent weight loss and enhance health in morbidly obese individuals. Diseases associated with obesity such as adult onset diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea are often eliminated in the process.
