Objectives
- Explain key elements of appropriate care for transgender patients seeking primary, specialty and emergency care across the health system.
- Define basic terms such as; gender identify, gender expression, sexual orientation, transgender, cisgender and medical affirmation.
- Recognize the risks and benefits of different gender-affirming therapies such as hormone therapy and surgery.
