About Cooper

Dr. Siobhan Cooper has returned to Bend after 12 years away! Siobhan and her husband, Liam, lived in Central Oregon for many years back in 2003. Siobhan initially worked in public health and community development on the Warm Springs reservation. After that position ended, she and Liam were caretakers for a local ranch and lived the “good life” during their mid 20s. The two then moved to the east coast for medical school and graduate school. After five years in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Little Rock, Arkansas, they followed their hearts back to Oregon. Siobhan graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2011 and then completed her family medicine residency at the OHSU rural campus Cascades East in Klamath Falls in 2014.

After finishing residency, starting a family, developing a wonderful community and playing in all the wilderness one could ask for – Siobhan and Liam decided to stay in Klamath Falls for the past 5 years. Southern Oregon has been a wonderful place to practice full-spectrum family medicine, live life and raise a family. However, the time was right to make a change and the stars aligned enabling them to shift gears and move back to Bend.
Dr. Cooper returns to Bend very different than when she left. She is now a seasoned family doctor. She has hitched her wagon to Liam Schenk, a Hydrologist for the US Geological Survey and works in water quality and river ecology throughout Oregon. They bring with them two girls: Maeve, an outgoing 6-year-old and soon-to-be first grader at Pine Ridge Elementary; and Rowan, an adventurous 3-year-old and soon to be preschooler at Circle of Friends school. When not walking their dog in town, they all can be found mountain biking, skiing, hiking and wading in any stream. Like most of us, they are all happy to be here!

"We are delighted to welcome Dr. Cooper to our team! Her energy, passion and dedication to caring for her patients has impressed us all. We are very fortunate that she and her family have decided to return to Bend."
